Victoria Sage Of Land and Lineage and Pegi Eyers of Ancient Spirit Rising are offering sacred space for intimacy, community sharing, and witnessing as we honor the grief we are feeling for the world. Rapid change, ecological devastation, pandemic, war, political chaos, bereavement, personal trauma, health issues – what is weighing heavily on your heart and mind? As Frances Weller says, “It is our unexpressed sorrows and stories of loss, when left unattended, that block our access to soul.”
Embodying the ancient archetype of the council circle around a sacred fire, we will hold and support each other as we bring our sorrow to light, explore the language of grief, and delve into synchronicity and deeper meanings as we find new ways to hold the contradictions. With an emphasis on our love for our sacred Mother that we walk upon and reciprocity with all beings, we will seek the paths to hope that give strength in troubling times. May we also find the alchemy together that leads to balance, clarity, release, and fresh inspiration.
As we reclaim our ancestral past and deep time traditions, our circle model will explore the egalitarian values of equitable exchange, and we will honor the roles and skills of all participants as both students and teachers, community members and leaders. We encourage you to bring your gifts of knowledge and wisdom into this safe space, and your queries on issues of land and lineage, internalized coloniality, ancestral recovery, nature spirituality, or any other wondering that serves the circle.
For our first session we will open and close the space with meditation, prayer or poetry while following a talking circle format. This includes a group agreement on confidentiality as we support and affirm the sharing of each person. Each time we come together we may present a themed question, focus on a specific nature-centered practice, or take our direction from the overall interests and energy of the group.
