Pegi Eyers is the author of Ancient Spirit Rising: Reclaiming Your Roots & Restoring Earth Community, a survey on the interface between Turtle Island First Nations and the Settler Society, social justice work, sacred land, nature spirituality, earth-emergent healing, and the holistic principles of sustainable living. She is a member of the mtDNA-based Helena Clan (descended from Mitochondrial Eve as traced by The Seven Daughters of Eve), with more recent roots connecting her to the mythic arts of England and Scotland. Pegi self-identifies as a Celtic Animist, and is an advocate for the recovery of authentic ancestral wisdom and traditions for all people. She lives in the countryside on the outskirts of Nogojiwanong in Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg territory (Peterborough, Ontario, Canada), on a hilltop with views reaching for miles in all directions.

Pegi Eyers is a member of the three working groups Indigenous Traditions, Our Emerging Selves: Exploring Self and Nature through Creative Practice, and Interspecies Dialogues Conversation/Animism Reading Group at Harvard Divinity School that arose in April 2023 from the conference "Uses and Abuses of Power in Alternative Spiritualities." Building on the success of the inaugural conference in April 2022, Harvard has created several thematic groups for scholars and practitioners who wish to discuss a particular aspect of alternative spirituality on a monthly basis. As with all the Harvard initiatives, we define “alternative spiritualities” broadly to include emerging spiritual movements, marginalized spiritualities, Indigenous spiritualities, diasporic traditions, spiritually-oriented social movements, and the innovative edges of established religious traditions.
